MHRR Rabbit Wait List*
PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY
***********************************
**WE ARE LOCATED IN AND AROUND BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA**

AS OF SUMMER 2024, WE HAVE LOST OUR PRIMARY FOSTER SPACE, MEANING THE NUMBER OF RABBIT FOSTER SPOTS HAS BEEN CUT BY 2/3. :(  ANY RABBIT PLACED ON THIS LIST WILL UNFORTUNATELY BE WAITING A VERY LONG TIME FOR A PLACE TO GO. THE BETTER OPTION WOULD BE TO FOSTER THROUGH US IF YOU AREN'T ABLE TO REHOME ON YOUR OWN, OR SURRENDER TO YOUR LOCAL ANIMAL CONTROL.

We receive far more intake requests than we get adoptions, so we are unable to give an estimate on time it may take until a foster home opens up.

First priority goes to MHRR adopted rabbits being returned, then to emergency & urgent cases (medical issues, risk of euthanasia at animal control, etc.).

Owner surrenders - please visit our website for tips on rehoming on your own or to fill out a for-adoption-by-owner assist form. Your wait time will likely be a very long time.

PLEASE EMAIL US PICTURES ***AFTER SUBMITTING A COMPLETED FORM***.
It's possible we can match up a rabbit to a foster or adopter seeking a specific type of rabbit if we have pictures. The best email address to use in regards to the wait list is: MagicHappensRabbitRescue@gmail.com <- This is our main wait list email.

*FOR THOSE NOT LOCATED IN LOUISIANA*
If you are needing to surrender an animal and in another state please try a rescue in your state first. If you are in another state and not able to bring the animals to us in the event we can take them in, we will not be able to help.

****Please fill out one form per pet if housed separately****

MHRR is a network of foster homes - we do not have a public shelter building, nor do we receive any tax dollars. We rely on individuals or families to house all adoptable pets, which means availability fluctuates. We regret not being able to help them all but we must take proper care and provide appropriate housing, food, and vetting for the ones already in our care that we have committed to.

Summer is the hardest time as adoptions are less frequent (vacations, summer camps) and intake requests increase (college students moving, gets too hot for outdoor rabbits), but we try to keep the list going year round.

Donating a cage or habitat will not quicken the wait time, we appreciate the offer but we have additional habitats in storage in case of natural disaster, etc.

IF YOU ARE SURRENDERING A GUINEA PIG -> Please fill out our separate Guinea Pig Wait List form that can be found at the bottom of this page: http://www.magichappensrescue.com/waitinglist
